Now i have one. It s not my own personal experience i m sorry to say but that of some fellow Hunters. Bob Keller of Rhein main Carey Cachin of Munich and Dave dues of Simbach had a great Hunting experience there recently. Here is Bob Keffer s account of their Hunt in mid for Dan Hirsch or fallow Deer Stag we arrived sept. Is at chateau Stree for the open ing Day of the fallow Deer season. As soon As we Gol in arc we were Given excellent accommodations an treated to a Fine dinner by our Host Edward Seydlitz Early the next morning we met our guide known Only to the Hunting party As Wolfgang who took unto the Hunting area about 10 Kilometres from the chateau. Wolfgang look Carey and Dave stalking White i remained in a Hochwitz High seat with Danny Trujillo who came along just for the fun rather than to Hunt. It was decided that Carey would Lake the first shot. After a few hours of stalking through the Pine and Oak Forest he saw an old Stag. It was standing Between two Pine Trees about 60 meters away. Carey rested his Rifici against a Small tree and fired. The slag trotted away with no reaction and was followed by two other animals. Wolfgang said he Hod seen fur Fly after the shot and was sure the slag had been hit. He was right. The shot had been placed just be Hind the shoulder. After walking about 50 meters. Mark Swearengen the Stag fell. Then it was Dave s turn. They stalked up and Down some Steep slopes through rough terrain. The soon saw a Small slag but passed in up. Then they discovered a Good slag bedded Down in the fms Between groups of Oak and Pine Trees. The animal stood up. Dave could t gel a Clear shot so he moved about 23 meters to his right an tired off hand through a Small opening in the Pines. The Bullet hit in front of the rib Cage and the slag walked about 70 meters before a finishing shot could be fired. Meanwhile Danny and i had Only seen a wild boar from our High stand in the tree. We helped Load the two Stags into the truck and went Back to the chateau for lunch. After lunch Carey and Dave headed Home wit their trophies. Wolfgang took Danny and i to another Hunting area. We stalked up and Down Hills crossed streams and walked through High ferns for almost two hour without seeing anything. Then he saw three wild boar and later saw even More. During the Day we observed 50 to 60 wild pigs ranging from Frischling or piglets to several mature pc incr boar weighing Well Over 300 pounds. Finally we saw our first fallow Deer. It was a Small Stag that was sleeping along a Forest path. It saw us and ran. Just before dark we were climbing a sleep Hill. Atthe top Wolfgang motioned for us to stay Low. Directly in front i could Sec two Stags sitting in a Clear ing. One was a Small lesser Stag but he other had a noticeably Bood rack. When the larger one stood up i could Sec it had Long beams and Points but the palpation was irregular split into a 0 shape. Then i looked to the Toft and saw another Small antlered Stag. 1 decided to shoot the larger one when Danny whispered that there was still another slag almost hidden by some Large ferns. Wolfgang looked and said he s a Good one. Only the head and a few inches of the neck were visible but Wolfgang said i used his Shoul Der As a rest and placed and crosshair on the Center of the Blag s neck a few inches below the jaw. The .270, Iso Grain Bullet went True and the Stag Crum pled in his tracks. It was a Good trophy. One beam was 67 centimes ters Long and inc Antler weight exceeded three kilograms. I fell satisfied with the results and the experience. It was a Fine Hunt in Belgium s Beautiful chateau country and one the entire Hunting party will re member.
