Illinois 17-1 Overall and 4-1 in the big ten had been the Only undefeated Mcaa division i team. The Zillini playing without standout Point guard Kendall Gill who was injured in their last game this week had earned their first no. 1 ranking since 1952. Minnesota 11-5 and 3-3, pulled off its second upset in 12 Days having beaten then no. 5 Iowa on Jan. 14. Burton enjoyed perhaps the Best All around game of his three year College career. Larry Krystkowiak scored a career High 31 Points and Reserve Ricky Pierce added 25 to Lead hot shooting Milwaukee Over Portland. Jerome Kersey s 25 Points led the Trail blazers who lost their fifth straight game and fourth in a Row at Home. The Home losing Streak is the longest for the Trail blazers since 1986. It was the Bucks third consecutive Road Victory and10th in 18 games this season. Nuggets 129, heat 108 Miami Alex English scored 34 Points and Walter Davis came off the Bench to add 17 to Lead Denver Over Miami ending the nuggets four game losing Streak.
