Recent writer and his Popeye protest against the playing of music i am fighting a similar Baltic at wort. Hyrc i must share the same office space with people who Are addicted to Rock music and insist on sharing their Addic Tion with the rest of Mankind. Even at a Low volume this music interferes with my ability to concentrate and i do not appreciate being forced to listen to it i wonder if the work place is an appropriate setting for the Public broadcast of someone s personal taste in i also wonder about folks who seem to require a constant background of raucous music even to the Point of sleeping to it. I m no psychologist but i seems to me that this indicates some kind of insecurity. Maybe they re afraid of their own thoughts which peace and quiet might Force i Crri to listen to. As a former smoker who has suffered the rude re Marks and expulsions associated with indulging in a habit that infringes on the rights of others to clean air i especially resent being the victim of this noise pollution which violates my right to quid air. Since the invention of earphones and the Walkman i Sec no reason for this inconsiderate behaviour to music addicts Don t have to give up their Habitor even refrain from it in order to avoid disturbing others. All they have to do is Hook themselves up to a cheap Sci of earphones and indulge themselves to their heart s Content. Now is the time for All of us silent victims of doom Box tyranny to speak up and make our pres ence known. In the words of another cartoon charac Ter of course you know this Means War a Lanny Heidelberg West Germany to listen to music is an individual s own right to this we must agree. Loud music is not necessarily meant to insult everyone Wilhm Range. To some it is a Small release. To others it is a Safe feeling of Power a their control. Why do people drive fast Why do peo ple do wrong your question. Will no doubt gel numerous answers from people lending to agree with you to the ones who would say try our earplug. each unit i assume has a noise policy usually in your unit sop. Your question is of. An interesting nature but it could be answered More on a personal basis. Ask someone you a now who plays their music too loud sometimes this helps he or she May be Able to answer your question. Personally Piny music at an increased level now. And then. It makes me feel Good. Spec. James to Carman Bamberg a Cal Germany 1 wholeheartedly agree with the recent writer on the Issue of loud music. Loud music in any Circum stance is offensive no matter what kind. Recently my husband and i struck out for a relax ing walk in a much frequented but peaceful Park m Bod nauheim. West , much to our dismay and the dismay of Many German families surround ing us our Solitude was broken. A group of three military members saw i to brandish a huge Box on their shoulders blaring the Lac so rap tunes. Not Only was it too bad Bur quiet time was interrupted but Alto that our fellow military members can t read picture signs prohibiting radios among other things in the Park. Or perhaps they were just being disrespectful of others rights a dangerous thing in a country whose people hold privacy and adherence to it so High. We Are among Many families trying to peacefully coexist on the Economy with the people of Germany. Since Many of our German neighbors unfortunately have branded us without cause to be like the who choose blatant disrespect for Laws and customs i Ami disgusted. Perhaps a Courtesy patrol of More than just local hangouts at night is in order. Those who do not know can do. Informed and those who know but Don t cure can be prosecuted. I know it s been thousand times but we Are All ambassadors Here and should make an attempt at peaceful relations with the people of our Host coun try. Nume with held a Ritell Erk i St Germany i am a music Lover too but i agree with the music Lover who can t hand no More was delighted to find thai someone else feels the same Way 1 to about music played loudly. I enjoy almost All types of music from classical to Rock but i never play music loudly. The reasons first have extremely delicate and sensitive cars and loud anything hurts my ears immensely. And secondly i do nol believe in forcing others to listen to my music now i would like to ask a question. I have eaten in some snack bars where the music is usually so loud we have a difficult time talking together As a family. I also recently attended a local sidewalk the music was blaring so loudly that when a helpful Sale clerk said something right in my ear. I could not hear her these types of situations take place All Over in Many exchanges cafeterias and snack bars. Who decides what volume is right and Why do the employees usually get angry when i request the music to be turned Down a Little there is one other thing and that is something called confusion of confusion of sound is the inability to sort and distinguish a complexity of sounds by the brain. Sound funny never heard of in it is not funny. I know because i have in so do Many others i have met it May sound strange but actually what happens is if there arc More than three. Or four sounds going on at once say you Are listen ing to your Friend Tell about her wedding and the group a few feet Over is chattering away the music is playing and a dump truck is unloading dirt outside you find yourself having no idea what your Friend is saying to you because nil the sounds arc one the louder the noises the More confusing the brain Sim ply cannot sort or distinguish the sound you Are Tryr. Ing to concentrate on when this happens to me Lam totally useless. I can l even think straight. I have Learned to compensate when possible and to avoid Ioudif crowded areas. However some places can not. Be avoided. V ,. Turning Down your to when you have guests. Or turning Down the music in some facilities would be helpful to people like me who have this confusion. Of sound. Also turning the volume Down a Lillic would help people with very sensitive cars and the people who Don t want 10 be forced to listen to music Hal is played loudly so out of respect for others please turn pm Down if asked this will be sincerely appreciated by both customers and friends thanks.
