Into the Wall and out of the Lead less than two laps from the end. Holding off first one then two sons of Indianapolis 500 legends for the biggest Victory of his life sunday. Michael Andretti and Unser were the Only Drivers Able to pass the two time formula one Champion on the race track but neither could outlast the Man who once retired from racing because it was too dangerous. What a race what a race a triumphant Fittipaldi said. I cannot believe it. I dreamed so much of this Ever since i was a Little  Andretti the son of 1969 Winner Mario Andretti fell out of the race witha broken engine while leading the 42 year old brazilian then the daring Unser raced past the longtime Champion Only o Sec his Hopes of joining i father and Uncle Bobby in the Victory Circle at the Indianapolis motor Speedway end in a burst of flame and spewing parts. It was also much like the incident last july at the new Jersey Meadowlands when Unser hit Fittipaldi from behind Kevin Cogan s car crashes into retaining Wall at Indianapolis Speedway. He was pulled out of car and walked away uninjured. And knocked him out of the race in a late Battle for the Lead. I was going inside on turn three be cause of the traffic Fittipaldi said. Sullivan who was injured in a crash during practice on May ii started 26th and had moved up to about i2lh before his problem. We were being cautious Sullivan said.
