I knew i was playing very Good on the Back nine Holcin said. But 1 did t realize i was playing a 37 nine. I made several Good putts and i was really hitting my  Mike Connors of the Mac just played steady Golf to take the seniors 40 and Over Lead with a 39-3776, two strokes better than the . S Charlie Harrell. Pete Konowicz and Thomas Johnson both from the Csc were one stroke further off the Pace. I did t do anything spectacular and i did t do anything too bad Connors said. I was t too Happy when i bogeyed the sixth Hole. It was playing so easy today but most of the other shots were of. Lemond s time for the distance was 6 hours 45 minutes 59 seconds Over the 161.07 Miles. The race covered 21 laps Over the circuit in and around Cham be by. A hard rain started to fall on the 14th Lap As Kony Chev and Clave Rolat were in a group of four that had almost a five minute Lead Over the pack that included Lemond and Kelly. But first Rooks caught the group with two laps left. France s Laurent mignon took another group away from the pack that included most of the favourites like Lemond and Kelly Only 11 seconds be Hind at this joint. On the final climb up the Hill in the Middle of the circuit Lemond attacked quickly and ate up the distance on the leaders catching them just at the top with 4.8 Miles to go. On the descent it was Clear All the leaders were wailing for the final sprint. Just after the final turn on the final Long straight Lemond made his move and held the slight advantage the rest of the Way waving his Arm just before the finish line. It was Lemond s second world  previously won in 1983. He won the tour do France this year for the second time and joins a select few who have won the tour
