The Dow. Jones Industrial average which closed the previous week at an All time High of 2752.09, dropped 42.55 Points to finish the week at 2709.54. Broader Market indexes also slipped. The new York. Stock Exchange composite Index cased 2.42 Points to end the week at 193.95. Standard & poor s 500-Stock Index fell 4.97 Points to close at 348.76. Declines led advances 1,109-683 among the 2,142 issues traded. Nose volume for the Holiday Short ened week totalled 621,258,120 shares compared with 757,529,410 a week ear Lier and 552,800,220 a year ago. Stocks began slipping tuesday As Trad ers returned from the labor Day holi Day depressed by a weaker Bond Market and computerized sell programs. Futures related Selling dampened prices during the next two sessions and completely erased the gains that the mar Ket managed to Post for most of thurs Day s session. Prices bounced Back at Friday s open but sell programs were activated again and the Dow shed More than 20 Points before stabilizing in the Early afternoon. Investor s guide by Bill Doyle  have a Stock certificate indy name and my wife s name As joint tenants with right . My wife is deceased and i want to have my daughter s name put on the certificate. I wrote to the Bank s Transfer agent for the Stock asking for the forms necessary to make that change. I received a reply stating we do not have the forms to accomplish what you have in  what do i do now  Don t need forms from the Transfer agent. You do need certified copy of your wife s death certificate a notarized affidavit of domicile list ing her Lega residence and if required i your state a state inheritance or estate tax waiver. You can Doyle obtain those documents at your county courthouse. Send them and the Stock certificate to the Transfer agent by registered mail. You mus sign the assignment form on the Back of the certificate and have your signature guaranteed. A new Stock certificate registered in your name and your daughter s name will be mailed to you. O. I have decided to add my mar ried daughter s name to my Stock certificates. An officer of a Large Bank says i would be making a gift and there could be tax consequences. I say it would be no such thing. I simply want to have my name and her name on the Stock As joint tenants. Am i Correct a. No. Once your daughter s name is on the Stock she will own it just As much As you do. You will have made a gift to her. You can make gifts of up to $10,000 a year to each of As Man people As you want without filing Federal gift tax returns. Non Union hiring spurs violence International Falls Minn. A hundreds of people fitting As terrorists burned temporary housing and overturned cars saturday in a pro test of the hiring of non Union construction labor at a Boise Cascade paper Mill. Gov.
