Air Force to toughen standards on fitness for men and women by Chuck Vinc Washington Bureau Washington the air Force beginning sunday will phase in tougher fitness standards Over the next four years including the elimination next year of the three mile walk option for anyone under 35. And some air Force members think it s about time. The air Force should have come up with some kind of mandatory phys ical fitness program Long ago said senior master set.
