We shared the wooded downhill trails with several Slidders throughout our stay. Aside from skiing we discovered that the Best thing to do atop these mountains is to eat. Serfass ski area has six restaurants including the Kolner Klaus. We sampled three of them. The prices were typical of any ski resort but the food was Good and the atmosphere was Friendly. At night the Kom Perdell slopes close Clown. That makes for quiet evenings at the Kolner Haus but there Are plenty of acres ski activities Down in Serfass. Restaurants and cafes line the main streets of the town and there Are several pubs and dance bars. A stroll through the town is a common activity since traffic is regulated and City streets Are left Upen to pedestrians. Serfass also has scheduled special events for visitors during the ski season. Upcoming activities include a disco evening on March 24, a dog sled race on March 25, a ski acrobatic show on March 31, a fireworks display on april 7 and a Chapel concert on april 8. There is no shortage of accommodations in Serfass. There Are hundreds of hotels pensions apartments and private rooms for rent at varying Price ranges. Rooms at the hotel Altenhof a four Star hotel in downtown Serfass Start at 720 austrian schillings about $61 per person. Pension Montana also located in the Center of town offers rooms with breakfast from 340 to 370 austrian schillings $29 to $31 per person. A private room at the Haus in Roblick outside of town costs 1bo to 200 austrian schillings $15 to $17 with breakfast. Rates at the Kolner Haus Range from 310 to Iso austrian schillings $26 to $30. This includes breakfast and dinner. Guests must also pay for lift transportation to the hotel. This costs 90 austrian schillings $8 for adults and 50 austrian schillings $4 for children. The return trip Back Down to the town is free for overnight guests. Serfass is approximately 60 Miles Southwest of Innsbruck. It is an hour and a half drive from the German austrian Border near Garmisch and a seven hour drive from Frankfurt.
