The third group ate a Standard american diet in which 18 percent of calories were from saturated fat 10 percent polyunsaturated and 10 percent monounsaturated. When the study was Over blood cholesterol Levels had fallen 8 percent in those who followed the heart association diet and 10 percent in those who got extra monounsaturated fat.
