Lesions Learned is maybe the wrong term but i want to Point out a couple of items in your last article that May help some of our fellow Hunters. I feel your articles Are educational. Especially after an individual has his German Hunting License and a few Hunts under his Belt. He tends to be More receptive than during the time he was attending the course. After Reading this far i could Tell smitty was trying to soften me up for something. In be been working with blood dogs since 1975. Since i9s0, i be been a member of the bavarian Mountain blood hound club. Now wait a minute smitty. I know you Are an authority on dogs but Are you telling me you be turned into a bavarian blood hound of it does no to Surprise me. Now to get to the nitty Gritty. Have you Ever encountered a live wounded wild boar they Are very dangerous. I have Many friends who have been attacked and seriously injured. I myself have been attacked twice. A a first you do not go looking for a wounded wild boar at night. Especially alone. You have to Check what is lying at the spot where the animal was standing when shot. Dark blood Means normally a shot in a flesh area that May not be fatal. Light blood is normally from the heart or lung area. Smitty a right. Its not Wise to look for a wild boar in the dark just after the shot. He makes the Point Well and i need not elaborate. My Story did not reveal a few of my own actions and considerations. And smitty caught me. I waited and listened after the shot. The boar ran into a dark area. It sounded As if it had fallen and was thrashing on the ground. I thought it was probably Down dead but i remained cautious and did no to conclude anything. I waited a few More minutes and heard nothing. I climbed Down from the High seat and found the spot where the boar had been hit. There was a great Deal of blood on the ground. I examined the color of the blood which was a medium red Between Light and dark which suggested that the Bullet had hit where i had aimed a at the heart area. I followed the blood Trail for about 10 meters. My Small flashlight grew weak and i decided not to continue fumbling in the dark. Had the Light not failed i might have continued on the blood Trail a dangerous Choice. It was not until Early the next morning that my forester Friend and i actually went looking and found the dead boar right where i suspected it had fallen. When i Field dressed the animal i found that the Bullet had passed through the heart. So my Hunt and first wild boar experience turned out All right. But in the future. So for sheer size and excitement and support for american youngsters in Europe who Are competing with Canadian belgian British dutch and German children in the league it just does no to get any better than youth swimming. The Fesl championship rivals the shape International military basketball tournament and the Albert Schweitzer youth basketball tournament for fan rumbling excitement. X and All this from a league started by nato parents in 1975 because there was no organized swimming program for their children. The league has grown from charter members in Berlin Mannheim Heidelberg Lahr Mannheim Stuttgart and shape to 18 teams in West Germany the Benelux and Italy. The first championships were held april 16, 1977. The teams take turns As hosts and organizers of the championships following a six month regular season that usually has about 12 meets. Heidelberg played Host to the 1990 finals. Frankfurt gets the honors for �?T91. Despite the tidal wave of the championships the league has problems. There seems to be the haves and the have not in the Fesl. Having your own Pool is a luxury in this league. Lahr shape Baum older Berlin and Munich Are the Only teams with their own pools. The other 14 teams swim in German pools. Shape also has a Good Pool of internationally trained swimmers which has helped the seals win nine of the 13 a championships. Although Stuttgart edged out shape for the 1990 title with Only 26 swimmers second place shape had 46 qualifiers and third place Lahr had 43, the two largest teams in the meet. Baum older a 20-swimmer team was the second smallest to reach the top 10. Eighteenth place Rhein Dahlen had the smallest team with Only four swimmers. The Rhei Dahlen reptiles Are made of British dependents. The championship officials did run a fast paced meet. Officials had swimmers cued up two races in Advance so As soon As the gun sounded to Start a heat the eight swimmers for the next heat moved behind the starting blocks. This led to non Stop swimming from 9 30 . To almost 4 . The problem was that it was difficult for the fans to Tell which team was in which Lane. Officials can improve the races by activating the olympic scoreboard to list the teams and swimmers in each Lane a and by going Back to electronic timing to reduce disputes that Are inevitable with hand held timing.
