Bobby Rahal Danny Sullivan Eddie Cheever the most recent arrival from formula on Roberto Guerrero and Randy Lewis while the foreign contingent is represented by Emerson Fittipaldi of Brazil Aric Luyendyk of Holland Didier Theys of Belgium Raul Boesel of Brazil Jim Crawford of Scotland and Teo Fabi and Guido Sacco both of Italy. Two members of this gathering have the distinction of being world champions in formula one racing winners of the Indianapolis 500, and winners of the Sac or cart National . Championships. They Are of course Mario Andretti and Emerson Fittipaldi. Bobby Rahal and Danny Sullivan both indy 500 winners campaigned in Europe for several seasons. Sullivan did formula one formula 3 and formula Ford racing and while he showed enormous Talent he never had any sponsorship Luck until he returned to America. Rahal meanwhile impressed a lot of people in his formula 2 and formula 3 drives and he had solid sponsorship but nothing Ever came of his european efforts. Cheever meanwhile a Long time campaigner in formula one and with Jaguar in sports car racing was impressive in his debut at the Phoenix cart pig opener where he finished seventh and he should have a Victory or two before the season is Over. Roberto Guerrero a native of Colombia who recently became a . Citizen drove briefly in formula one while the brazilian Boesel also had his fling there and in sports cars As Well. The dutch Driver Luyendyk and the belgian Theys both drove in formula Ford before heading to the states while Scotland a Crawford campaigned in both formula 2 and 3. Italy Steo Fabi who drives for porsche in the cart series drove in formula one for several seasons but like Cheever he never recorded a Victory. The italian Sacco got his Start in Europe while the californian Randy Lewis spent three seasons in Europe competing in formula Ford and formula 3 racing Back in the 1970s. The american cart pig championship series is Well represented on an International basis and this is All to the  a a the second round in the 16-race cart pig series will be staged on sunday at Long Beach calif., and one of the Drivers with a Road racing background should win it. Mario Andretti who just turned 50, was without a Victory last year and it would be a pleasure to see him come through at Long Beach. He a won there before so perhaps he can do it again on sunday.
