That adage was nowhere More evident than at the four Day Chelsea Flower show considered by Many to be the world s Premier Garden event. Chelsea is a showcase for Floral arrangements and Garden designs the place where new Flower species Are introduced where the Best of the gardening world meets to showcase its Blooming wares. Nurseryman Denis Baker has taken his Flowers from Martlesham near Raf Ben Waters to Chelsea for 42 years and Sells thousands of packs of his Iceland poppy seeds each year. His says his display a an Orange and yellow Blaze of color this year on the North end of the show s 3/?-acre marquee a is his business most important annual showcase. Quot it s the Best in the world Quot says Edward pain a maker of teak Garden furniture from East Sussex. Pain says almost 90 percent of his business is a direct result of his exposure at the Chelsea show and that customers come from All Over the world to the show to see and buy things horticultural. The Chelsea show first held in 1913, is the prodigal event of the 186-year-old Royal horticultural society. This year it boasted some 700 exhibitors and nearly 200,000 people passed through its Gates. If you missed this year s Chelsea show Don t despair the res holds a series of smaller shows at the horticultural Halls in Westminster London. Admission to those events ranges from $2.50 to $5.
