The use of Woodbridge High marked a major change for the cheerleaders. Previously the squads and Drill teams from Dodds Atlantic trekked to the continent and joined scores of their Germany Region counterparts in a Mammoth clinic held during labor Day weekend. After the gathering the participants coaches and the three instructors from the National cheer leading association agreed that the change was Worth shouting about. While the cheerleaders were practising partner stunts Drill team members jazzed up their routines with music video style dancing to hip hop sounds the most recent trend to hit Drill teams in the United states. The weekend of workshops lectures and demonstrations ended with an awards ceremony. Besides Rogers top individual winners among the Drill team performers included two Lakenheath teammates Heidi Erickson and Lawanda Foy who garnered the same award last year and Mindy Vititoe of Woodbridge. The Lakenheath Drill team won the precision dance and the Basic Drill awards while Woodbridge received the award for most improved team and the sweepstakes trophy. The Host squad from Woodbridge was Given the award of excellence As the Best All around squad earning it a bid to the National cheer leading Competition in Dallas this year. Audra Marsh from Croughton was named the top cheerleader receiving the All american award. Croughton a varsity squad walked away with the spirit and the inca staff awards while the schools Junior varsity squad was named the Best . Team.
