It is a country that seems to place More emphasis on living in Harmony with the environment than exploiting it to serve the needs of humans. Even in the cities the air and water Are mostly clean the streets and buildings Well scrubbed. One of the most Beautiful sections of Denmark is East Jutland a Region of rolling Hills and valleys Cut through by streams that meander Down to the Baltic. Dense Hardwood forests alternate with Grainfield and pastures dotted with Dairy cattle. On the Eastern fringe of this Region where the forested Hills slope Down to the Baltic Shore lies the City of Veale. This tidy Little coastal town of 50,000 residents makes a Good jumping off Point for exploring East Jutland and is also Worth a visit on its own. Veale lies at the head of the Veale fiord a natural Harbor that helped make the City a shipping Hub Early in its history. It is unclear when the first settlement was founded on the site but historical evidence places the Date at least As far Back As the late 1 2th Century. The first City charter was issued in 1327. During the Middle Ages Veale was an important Trade Center and fishing port but wars and regional conflicts brought a period of decline starting in the 1600s. In the 19th Century the establishment of a rail link spurred a Small Industrial revolution with the construction of Cotton Mills and foundries.
