Not your fault really though. It s just that Reading your reports on the latest antics of our democratic controlled Congress is enough to make anyone see red or vote straight Republican or both. They have clearly run out of control through Gerry mandring and manipulation of their taxpayers paid staff and mailing privileges the re election rate of con Gress is now 99 percent. So who do they have to answer to nobody it seems. They can to even adequately perform the most Basic task of Congress appropriation and expenditure of pub. Lie funds. Our $3 trillion deficit is proof of that. Now they want to muscle in on the presidents constitutional authority As commander in chief by demanding that he obtain prior approval from Congress before sending troops into combat. Right in a no general but i think that would effectively eliminate the element of Surprise and unacceptably increase our casualties. It May even cause initial defeat in any Given Campaign. I urge everyone to let these people know How you feel n these issues. Also keep tabs on the voting record of your congressmen so you know whether to vote for him or his opponent in the next election. Or whether to Praise or chastise in your communications. Let them know you arc watching them and what you expect of them. Find a publication that reports on individual congressmen s voting records. I subscribe to insight news Magazine which has a weekly congressional briefing that shows that week s voting record for every one in the Senate and House of representatives. Its difficult at first to become politically involved. But once you find a Means to keep informed of the issues and voting records and How and where to communicate with Congress and to vote it takes Little time and Effort. Please keep in mind that individual efforts do make a difference since it adds to the collective Effort. Through personal experience i can attest that feelings of anger and frustration can be assuaged when you know you Are doing your part in the democratic process of guiding our country. But what usually happens is that about half of the people on the sign up Sheet done to bother to show up putting a Strain on the rest of the people who did. This could mean the Success or failure of the event. It is understood that things do come up to prevent people from showing up but they could at least Call and let others know that they wont be there and then they could possibly get other help. There should be something the first sergeant or commander could do about this problem. Its not like they were forced to sign up. These people Are dealing with lives and fragile ones at that.
