J a since its creation 42 years ago the National horticultural exhibition at Keuken Hof the Netherlands has become one of Europe s major rites of Spring. On a recent blustery partly sunny Day the Keuken Hof was crowded with thousands of visitors of diverse nationalities. A steady Stream of tour buses rolled up to the main Gate and rows of cars from throughout Europe stretched to the far Corners of the 50-acre grass parking lot. Two of the american visitors were Thor Halvarson and his wife Jennifer. Halvorson a first lieutenant with the 12th aviation brigade at Wiesbaden a Germany was doing his first travelling in Europe since returning from six months in saudi Arabia.
