It says warnings have been issued for some areas but not for others where crime is rampant and not All advisories include sufficient detail on the criminal threat. Among other examples the Gao complained that for 21 months ending in february 39 americans were murdered and 100 were victims of other violent crimes in Mexico but no advisory was issued. In contrast a travel advisory was issued for Kenya after one american was murdered. The state department issues several advisories each year when political turmoil terrorist threats natural disasters the threat of arrest or other conditions require caution.
