According to the article this Soldier was questioned at length by the investigators during which time the Soldier requested to have a lawyer present. However the Soldier a dropped his request for a lawyer when one investigator threatened to have his wife picked up by the German police if he did no to drop his request. Further along in the article it stated that the military police did pick up the soldiers wife and their 3-year-old son. Penan who have peacefully protested against the destruction of their homelands have been arrested by the police beaten and denied food and imprisoned in intolerable conditions.
