The concert and jazz bands at Kaiserslautern High school combined with the school choir and the result was a compact disc. A the cd has pop jazz gospel classical and traditional concert band music a said Alexander the director of the schools music program. He said that he believes the cd Marks a first for a department of defense dependents schools. Alexander said that the school music program has produced records but that a no one buys los  so when students wanted to do a similar project the Choice was Between a cassette tape or a cd. A the kids decided on the cd a he said. A they knew it was expensive and a lot of work but they were up to  Elena Rivellino one of about 160 students who took part in the project said a listener variety was the key in selecting numbers for the compact disc. A we did a couple of slow songs and some faster swings a said Rivellino a senior who also plays piano. The disc was pressed in the United states and the regional office donated front and Back jackets Alexander said. The recording group raised $2,400 to make the cd which Are priced at $8 each. Five Hundred cd the minimum order were made and about half were sold during the summer. On Friday Alexander said there were about 290-of the cd left and sales were slow. The group recorded the music one Day at the end of the last school year the music teacher said with some selections being recorded on the first take. A there is some slippage some mistakes but the Energy is there a Alexander said. Rivellino is a member of the jazz band who has played the trumpet since sixth Grade. She said the most difficult part of the project was getting the pieces a together enough so that we could be cd Quality. There were lots of weekend rehearsals for the whole band.
