On wednesday she reads about further Pentagon troop reductions and worries about her future in the army. On thursday the sergeant reads about rampant unemployment in America and wonders if she would have any Chance of finding a Job if she were forced to leave the army. Although the changes she faces Are Many there Are Only two Basic ways to Deal with them according to a change management workshop developed by the army. A a you re either a change victim or a change master a said Barbara Bransford while conducting the workshop before a group of Community leaders at Ray Barracks in Friedberg. A in spite of All the changes that Are going on around you in spite of what happens you can get control of yourself and the Way you Deal with it a she said. A you can either take control of it or you can be a victim. Bransford said that Many soldiers Are afraid of losing their military Job and of not being Able to find a Job in the civilian world. Those Are the kinds of things being heard by Bonnie Edenfield in her Job As from the current changes but that there san atmosphere of stress As the draw Down continues. Hohnstine said she was attending the workshop to help prevent a crisis by knowing what to do and by getting people to the right sources. In Many cases losing a Job also Means losing ones identity Bransford said because in today a society people often Are identified by what their Job is. But people without jobs can to think too negatively about themselves if they Hope to make a pitch to prospective employers. A you have to Market and sell yourself a Bransford said. Quot you can to be Laid Back because there is too much Competition. You have to know your Good qualities. Not rocking the boat is not enough anymore. You have to convince them that you Are Worth  a person May not get the Job that they want but Bransford said that they usually can find some sort of Job. A person keeps a Good attitude during changing times by remaining True to oneself Bransford said. A Trust in yourself and you will find a solution a Bransford said. One Way to do that is to make a list of All the Good things or victories that have been achieved in the past. When someone is overwhelmed with change they often become too frightened to remember what they have achieved in the past and what they can achieve in the future. Another Way to help Deal with change is to avoid unnecessary changes. The ability to Cope with change is limited and too much change can Lead to stress Bransford said. The workshop includes a stress test that assigns a Point value to stressful events. Unavoidable events such As the death of a spouse led the list with 86 Points.
