The title Hopes were dashed somewhat when classes began in August a and Bottoms had a defected Quot to Crosstown International school of Brussels because she could get some subjects Brussels High school could t offer her. But James was still there and there was still a smattering of Hope. However Fate struck Down James last week in the form of a severe knee injury. She is not expected to be Back in action by tournament time a and Brussels lot has diminished almost completely. Another All Europe performer Nurnberg a Valerie Colvin also is Riding the injury list. Like James she Hurt her knee. However Colvin s prospects of playing by tournament time Are brighter than James chances. She is supposed to have her cast removed this week. Nurnberg a tournament chances appear to be brighter than Brussels because it Isnit so much a one girl team. Vanessa Kiermaier and Kriste Pickett have picked up a great Deal of the Slack for the eagles. Bottoms and the other non injured returning All Europe performers have been playing some exciting basketball.
