In my opinion the a report published on Jan. 31 which alleges that a majority of the German population favors a Complete . Troop pullout is not accurate in reflecting the feelings of the German people on this Issue. While understandably the reduction is the East West military threat is welcomed i am convinced that an overwhelming majority in Germany staunchly supports the american presence in Europe As a valuable stabilizing Factor. Speaking for the City of osterholz sch Armbeck i can assure you that we have for the past 14 years a and will continue to do so until the departure of the last american Soldier a treated All members of the . Military Community As equal citizens in our town. We Are proud and grateful for the accomplishments of the 2nd army div that we have had the Honor to Host. I am convinced that the Mere presence of the american citizens has greatly contributed to broadening the horizon of the Genera Public which May prove to be of considerable value in this time of change in Europe. Erhard Mackenberg osterholz Schrambeck German turks grateful As members of the turkish Community in Bremerhaven we want to thank you for printing the Jan. 21 Story about the fight at a Bremerhaven bar. The press does not always Correct its mistakes and sometimes people have the wrong information about something that happened. For example a local radio station broadcast several reports saying that the civilians in the fights on new years Day were All turkish people but they never told the True Story when it was known that Only one of the men was turkish. Your Story is the first time we have seen someone Check All the facts and write the Correct Story. All the turkish people in this Community thank you for writing this article. It was More than just doing your Job but also doing something Good for the people. A cumhur pc Sulci cd Bremerhaven Germany 4t 4rwho dropped Ball in the Early part of january 1 decided it was time to take advantage of the army a Early out program. Before i did however i made sure things were squared away Back Home in the states. I then put in my request with the Hope that 1 could be Back Home within a couple of months. Welt that a where i was wrong. Three weeks and Many 4187s later my Hopes Are gone. Every time my request was typed up it was found out later that it was not Correct requiring it to be typed up again. 1 understand that everything is not perfect in the army but 1 figured that i had until the end of february and i could be patient. On Jan. 28, i read the article telling me that the program was suspended As of Jan. 17 a whole 11 Days earlier. What i want to know is who dropped the Ball in today a world where a letter can be sent Halfway around the world at the blink of an Eye it still takes the army a Long time to put out what most would consider a very important an Noli Cement. I like Many other soldiers am stuck. For those of us whose paperwork was sat upon misplaced or incorrectly typed up there is no one we can turn to. The inspector general says that there is nothing it can do. The command says the same. Who a left to suffer of yes but of course the Soldier. The article said that they need to review the Early out program because More people than they expected requested the Early out. Gee i wonder Why that is f. The players take on fantasy roles As magic users dwarfs barbarians thieves gnomes humans or half humans a just to name a few. Sounds More like a movie similar to Willow or Conan to me. My 3-year-old son sits with daddy while he is playing listening and watching very attentively. In return his imagination runs wild and 1 see no violent or suicidal tendencies. The Point Here is that Damp a has received a completely undeserving bad rap. Like anything else some have become obsessed with Damp a done something wrong evil or suicidal and the Finger was pointed at Damp a. Face it though those people arc just sick in the first place. A Angela a. Miller Bobingen Germany unfair to a rappers a this letter addresses the Issue brought up in the recent article having to do with Quot mid career this article revealed a study that mothers who decide to postpone careers for child rearing will never quite regain momentum in their careers because they May be construed As Quot not being serious about their jobs when re entering the Job Market. Before our family came overseas i did have a Good career. I had always considered our family Quot Middle class based on both my husbands and my salaries and living in Washington . Fortunately my husband and i had our first child just before we arrived overseas. Therefore i did not immediately pursue my career overseas because although i enjoy my work it was important to me to be with her in her Early years. I considered it a privilege that we were Able to afford to do this. Now three years has passed and our tour is near an end. 1 am trying to get a Job lined up for our return to the states. It is a shame that i feel putting this child rearing Quot Gap on my r6sumd letters to the editor May hinder my chances for a Job because i could be considered As a not serious about my anyone who can afford and chooses to stay Home with children at any Given time must Quot seriously consider this the most important thing to do for the time being. To state the generalization that women May be considered not serious about their jobs after maternity leave is discriminatory. Now that i am confident my 3-year old will Benefit from group Day care experience and we will need both my husbands and my incomes to live in Washington ., i am More than motivated to work outside the Home. In addition with the increasing unemployment rate and sad shape of the Economy in the United states i know better than to depend on my husbands Job alone for family Security. Take me seriously when i am looking for a Job. A so. Price Madrid spa intake hat Godzilla one facet of our american personality really bothers me. It is our Lack of self Confidence. This weakness is historic. During world War ii we said that the nazis were invincible. As a child i was often reminded that the russians were a thousand years ahead of us in they had weapons against which we had no defense. The russians were going to Rule the world. Recently we were confronted by Saddam Hussein a Superman with a million Man army. It was armed with soviet super weapons and everything else far Superior to our laughable military. We saw the result. How did we useless americans Ever defeat the elite Republican guard apparently our latest adversary is Japan. Is Godzilla going to trample Detroit if we dare try to build better cars will legions of ninja disembowel All who resist japanese business takeovers will Mario infect All of our computers with an incurable virus maybe Jal pilots Are training right now to crash their 747s into our major airports and military bases. Remember the average japanese in is Over 200. Their schoolchildren can outperform nasal a engineers and laugh about it. They Are Light years ahead of us in i guess we just done to stand a Chance.
