At one time we thought we knew what the future was going to hold but now we done to know if we even have a future. After 12 years of faithful service to the United states a blemish free record and commendation medals How dare they give him an ultimatum Why done to they make the people close to retirement retire or Force the people with More than 20 years to retire Why done to they let the people out who want out regardless of rank and let the people who want to stay in stay in my family is not willing to take the Chance and Gamble with our future. Heaven forbid the United states goes to War in the next few years because with All these reductions it wont have anyone left to fight the War. I have been serving in Germany for More than four years and was recently married after two years of courtship. I am due to ets expiration of term of service in May and no thanks to the army a command sponsorship program i will be spending Money out of my own pockets to pay for my household goods and my wife to go stateside. I was told that if i wanted my command sponsorship to be approved i would have to extend past my ets Date and stay in Germany and the army for another year for a total of five years in Germany. This is absurd and ridiculous in today a army. I strongly believe the army really does not care about the Soldier and his family. Now that the army is in a state of drawing Down and soldiers and their families Are leaving the army at an alarming rate the army should take a look at the command sponsorship program and revise it. The doctors did All they could for them both but they Are listed As critical. The Mother lost a lot of blood and needed a transfusion. She has a very rare blood Type and the Hospital just did no to have enough. Her spouses battalion began calling All Over the brigade to see who had this Type of blood and would that person please give to this woman. Now our Community is Small but there were 60 soldiers with that Type of blood and 60 came to give. When the Hospital told them that they All were not needed they stayed just in Case someone else needed them. Some of these Young menus wives have been in my red Cross office expressing How much of a Bear their spouses have been since the draw Down. I called some of these women and told them of the Nice thing their spouse had done. One woman said a thank you so very much. I had forgotten How every time my Back was against the Wall he was there with a Bulldozer to Knock the Wall Down. When i Felt bad he made sure i was All right. When i needed some understanding love and reassurance he gave those things and so much More. During this time of uncertainty in his life i forgot that i too can drive a Bulldozer and give reassurance. Letters to the editor the lesson Isnit Over the recent articles concerning the people of Egypt have demonstrated what the biggest obstacle to improving race relations is today. People Are so anxious to claim responsibility for the accomplishments of an ancient people that we fail to see perhaps their greatest achievement. Yes its True that the ancient egyptians were the founders of modern mathematics. Its equally True that european scholars did come to Egypt to study both egyptian mathematics skills and architectural abilities. Its also a fact that Egypt is on the continent of Africa. That should Cement it for All of us that they Are not White americans nor Are they european. They also do not consider themselves Black. When asked they classify themselves As egyptian. And there lies their greatest lesson. The people of Egypt have dark skin. That comes with the climate and area. Their features Are Slimmer in line with a caucasian Breed. And they have Learned to live together in relative peace. The catch is a tax free  its a tempting phrase that helps a lot of service members Purchase a car. But before you Purchase a car Check with the state where you plan to Register it and find out what their Laws Are. Some states charge tax on the Purchase Price even if the Auto is three years old and Only used in Europe. Some states charge tax on the value of the Auto after depreciation. It might be a Shock when you get Back to the United states and the vehicle registration office in your town says $795, As was my Case when i returned to the United states in 1988. Although i was prepared for this it still defeats the purpose of that slogan a tax free cars. My advice Rule 1 a Check with the Dealership Rule 2 a Check with your state before you Purchase.
