No fewer than 15 Dodds a 10 boys Marks and five girls achievements a records Are ancient on the books for at least 12 years. The oldest record is the boys 100 meters which was originally set by Kaiserslautern a Clyde Wooten with a 10.6 clocking in 1963. It has been matched five times. Oddly enough the oldest girls record also is in the 100 meters the Mark of 11.8 was set by Nairn bergs a son dra Thomas in the Southern regional and was tied in the 1975 All Europe championships the next week when Frankfurt a Brenda Givens nipped Thomas at the tape in a thrilling race for the championship. _ All the girls times distances and Heights were records in 1975, because that was the first year that girls athletics in Dodds had been elevated to interscholastic status. Previously the girls competed under the auspices of the girls athletic association mostly in the form of Field Days instead of a regular weekly program. Frankfurt a Doug Henderson and Kaiserslautern a Alonzo Babers Are the leading individual old timers on the books with a pair of records apiece. Henderson a Are in the Long and triple jumps at 23-8 and 4811 i respectively set in 1974. Five years later Babers who went on to Star at the air Force Academy and won the 400 meters in the 1984 olympics set the standards in the 200 and 400. Ben Abrams he was clocked in 21.5 in the 200 and 47.7 in the 400 in the 1979 championships. Babers had a spectacular meet those two Days in the championships at Munich. Wurzburg a sprint Medley team got into the preliminary record setting act in 1980 when Lydia Kay Colleen Hayes Veronica Hayward and Sabrina Dornhofer turned in a sizzling 4 14.6 clocking to break by 10 seconds the record they established the previous week in regional Competition. Dornhofer also had set the 1,500 and 3,000 meter records in the regional and she re established the 1,500 Mark in the finals. Both stood until of cent a Liz Wilson erased them in 1986. The stars of 1992 still have three weeks of regular season Competition before they can set their sights on records but they re going to need a lot of help from the Weatherman. The weather was quite Nice March 21, but the track and Field luminaries did no to begin their Competition until the next week when conditions were not so Nice to put it mildly. Then came a two week Layoff with decent weather and last weeks return to action a in freezing rain and High winds. Things it seems should get better since May is just around the Comer. Obviously there weren to Many big changes in the Honor Roll with the weather so horrible. Bonne a Tracey Losi made her 1992 debut in the 3,000 meters after having competed Only in the 800 and 1,500 previously a and she leads All three Honor Roll categories with clocking of 2 25.0, 4 53.0 and 10 53.0, respectively. Only one other athlete Mannheim a Ericka Farmer leads in two events. She has a 12.8 in the 100 and a 27.0 in the 200. Ramstein a Teri Duthie is second behind Losi in All three Distant events. Hanau Santonio Pena first in the boys 3,000 and second in the 800 and 1,500 and Wei Brucken a Stephanie Jones first in the High jump second in the triple jump and third in the Long jump Are the Only other competitors on the Honor Roll three times. A a a the Germany soccer races Are beginning to heat up. The Heidelberg girls and Owci Brincken boys both 4-0-0, carry the Best conference records into this weekends strife. Heidelberg has aaa engagements with Ramstein saturday. The Ramstein boys Lead the league with a 3-0-1 record Heidelberg is 2-1-1. Wiesbaden which plays out of conference is 3-0-0. The Ramstein girls Trail Heidelberg by one game so this weeks action carries a lot of weight. Other Blue plate specials match the Pitburg and Patch girls both 3-0-6 in a warfare and and the Baum older and bad or Cugnach girls both 2-0-0 in a North strife.
