Mantel status physical Handicap political affiliation or any other non men actor of the purchaser user or Patron fat but healthy regarding the letter a flabby dependents a in a one of those a fat dependents the writer so kindly referred to. Just because in a fat does not mean i sit around All Day watching to and stuffing my face with every Munchick on the Market. During the Day i work no Lime to Munch there. I do not stuff myself at the local eateries either. In the evening yes the to is on and sure i like millions of others including a a Skinny people watch. However i also take time to read the paper write letters Home or do any of the numerous hobbies i have. The writer was wrong to assume that because in a fat i must be a Couch potato with a hand to Mouth have no health problems and never have. My blood pressure is As Low As Skinny Peoples 110/70. I Only see the doctor once a year for my exam. From what in be seen of my Skinny counterparts some of them have the same diseases the writer mentioned. They Are also so wrapped up in being thin that they make themselves sick by not eating healthfully thereby placing a Burden on the medical system. They arc depressed and have Low self images. In a perfectly Happy with who i am and proud of what in be accomplished. My husband loves me for who i am on the inside not for How the a package is wrapped a that a the problem with today a society a everyone a so concerned with appearances. I Hope this opens up discussion on another form of discrimination that no one is wilting to address a weight discrimination. A Valerie l. Sanchez Bent wakes England trials in tent City regarding a discomfort in incur like nov. 10normally id just let it go and Chalk it up As a typical Case of overseas whining. However. I feel the writer painted a false picture probably the biggest discomfort is the 70-Yard walk to the nearest mostly cold showers and smelly latrine. We All live with Jet noise but living at the runways end in a Canvas tent presents new adventures in sleeping habits not to mention the ballooning effect when the wind kicks up. Of course the on Day off we get about every five Days we can catch up on our rest without Access to the bases new dining facility we must fend for ourselves which Means eating out because we Are not allowed to Cook in or within 25 feet of our tents then there a the unending Joy and camaraderie of spending at least 90 Days in a tent with six to eight other people with Little privacy in a space 8 feet by 8 feet. On to the assertion we re collecting outrageous per diem. Per diem is based on availability of government provided meals and the typical prices of meals when not available. Consequently dining eats up a significant portion of this per diem if you want to eat anything other than junk food. The writer fails to mention per diem and family separation pay Are the Only monetary advantages we have Over permanent personnel who collect hazardous duty pay foreign duty pay Ami Are tax exempt until operation provide Comfort Etui lastly granted there a a terrorist threat in Turkey but old gladly face it with my loved ones especially if it meant spending the holidays with them. In closing this letter was meant to educate those who Are ignorant of the True conditions faced by tent City dwellers. Old gladly Trade places with the writer but in country Lias asked me to sup port provide Comfort 6,800 Miles from Home so next time you want to begrudge me what Little fun i have kiss your wife and kids pet the dog and thank them for coming with you. In be been in the military for 12 years. In be lived in far worse conditions than what in a living in at i Cut City. Its not so much the living conditions As it is the atmosphere. We suffer constant harassment from the fire department a the worst fire Hazard being the tent itself. We Are disliked by the locals. Then to top it All off we suffer insulting comments from permanent party personnel. I did no to set the per diem rate. However per diem is not the Issue Here. No amount of Money is Worth the suffering and heartache my family must endure Over the next three months. We arc All in this together whether try or permanent party. We could make things easier on ourselves if we try to get along. We All have a Mission to Complete. Lets do it with a Little professionalism. No one twisted our Arm to join the military. A tech. Sgt. David a. Boswell in Ciurlik a Turkey a suggested headline the newspaper headlines around the world on nov. 4 should have been a the Media a Linda Scharff Izmir Turkov 1 r unruly kids ruin Brunch regarding the recent letter a thoughtless parents Quot my wife and i looked at each other and smiled. Someone beat us to the punch. Yes. Up rants of unruly children should be More considerate of others at Fine dining facilities. Our personal beef to parents who let their children run wild through the Ramstein officers club during sunday Brunch we believe children should be seen and not heard at times like that. Let adults enjoy themselves without being annoyed by screaming kids. Quot so Otten we have gone out for a meal to have it ruined by thoughtless parents who persist in taking their children to restaurants not suited to the very Young. Its one thing if children sit and quietly eat their meal but that a rarely if Ever the Case. The writer made a valid Point in that if parents can afford an expensive dinner out they could surely afford a baby Sitter. Those of us who spend our hard earned wages would appreciate parents being More considerate of others out for Brunch dinner Etc. Maybe you enjoy the noise your children produce in these establishments but rest assured the rest of us done to. A Joel Dougherty and Jennifer Dougherty Ramstein a German abortion decisions after Reading All of the letters concerning the ongoing Issue of abortion i Felt compelled to write. As a Mother i do not feel i could live with the decision to have an abortion. However that does not give me the right to Tell another woman How to run her life. I would much rather know a woman had an abortion than hear on the news that a Newborn was found dead in a dumpster. I believe its better to end the unwanted pregnancy before a child has to feel the cold or hunger. I feel its Best to Stop what would be a life of suffering abuse and neglect before the child has a capacity to feel pain. As for All you lifers out there unless you want the responsibility of taking car of All these unwanted children i would suggest leaving the Choice up to the person most affected by it a the woman. After All its still her right to choose and she alone must live with her Choice. A spec. T. Terrell Mainz Germany religion of contempt Madonna. Who is she i read the Center Section of a recent stars and stripes with incredulity. I was amazed at the positive appraisal of her Book on sex coming unfortunately to stars and stripes bookstores. Was this some attempt to gain Reader reaction hoping the Reader Public is finally desensitized enough not to respond to this latest attack on moral decency if we the Public fail to speak out moral standards will continue Down the Slippery slope. The Book is degrading to women and gives Madonna a platform to preach her religion of contempt for what most of us stand for. A John Gargan Raf Lakenheath England ran porn at bookstores this letter is in response to pornography being sold in the stars and stripes bookstores. I find it ironic that the stars and stripes could be so caring to the German people in regard to mein Kanpf a and yet there is very Little concern Felt for the families who frequent their stores pornography does about As much for families As mein kampf does for germans. It embarrasses and offends Many while i done to think censorship is the solution i do support a ban on pornography. Adult books can find their place at the adult Bookstore not where families go a Tina s. Row ton wild Flecken Germany
