So his homeroom teacher at Regensburg elementary told Rachid and his classmates to use the time to draw pictures and enter them in the annual Christmas Art contest sponsored by the stars and stripes. That advice paid off for the 12-Ycar-old Rachid. His drawing of a Christmas tree was judged tops in the category for 8 to 12-year-Olds, earning the sixth grader an 18-Speed Mountain Bike.
