Afterwards he allegedly assumed the identity of Clif Ford Jerry Leighton a 2-year-old California boy who died of Haemophilia in 1953. Elliott was arrested Friday five Days after he was found unconscious on the Side of a Riverside county Road. His Fiancee reported him missing Jan. 22 when he did not come Home from work. He was charged with committing perjury by falsely signing documents including a Driver s License application. Orange county sheriffs detectives researching Elliott s background determined that his birth certificate matched that of the dead toddler. Elliott allegedly abandoned his family in 1979 after participating in a chess tournament in St. Louis. No traces of him were found and he was declared legally dead after 10 years.
