   European Stars and Stripes (Newspaper) - August 05, 1993, Darmstadt, Hesse                                Great Britain schedule of events a series of special events will be held through september in the City of Winchester in Honor of the 900th anniversary of the dedication of the Winchester Cathedral. The following is a list of some of those events free concerts will be held at 1 1 0 . In the Cathedra Lori july 27, aug. 3, 5, 10,17 and 24, and every tuesday in september. The Cathedral is just South of the Square. An exhibition of 900 candles candelabra sconces and chandeliers will run through aug. 2 7 at the Winchester gallery on Park Avenue. It includes works by nine British designers and artists. The gallery is closed saturdays through mondays. Admission is free. Ceramic pieces by 16 potters will be exhibited through aug. 1 at the Guildhall gallery on the Broadway just East of Guildhall Street. The gallery is closed mondays. Admission is free. The Bournemouth symphony with Mezzo Soprano Sally Burgess Tenor William Kendall and the philharmonic chorus will present Elgar s dream of cer Ontius at 7 30 . July 30 at the Cathedral. Tickets Range from 7.50 pounds about $11.70 up to 25 pounds about $39 and can be purchased from the Winchester tourist office in the Guildhall on the Broadway. The Winchester College players will perform Shakespeare s twelfth night at 7 30 . Aug. 5 through 8 in the Warden s Garden. The Garden is beside new Hall on the Winchester College , off College Street. Tickets Are 5 pounds about $7.80 and can be purchased from the tourist office. A festival of Flowers entitled realms of creation will be available for viewing from 9 30 . To 8 30 . Sept. 1 through 4 and from 1 to 5 . On sept. 5 in the Cathedral. A Junior High school orchestra from the Winchester schools plays in front of the High altar during lunchtime. About 170 Morris dancers representing 12 Morris dance clubs in the United kingdom will hold a dance display at 3 30 . Sept. 4 in front of the Law courts South of Romsey Road and West of Southgate Street. Dancers also will Lead a procession to the Cathedral on sept. 5 for a 10 30 . Service. The procession will begin at 10 10 . At Guildhall and will travel West on the Broadway and High Street and then South to the Cathedral. Morris groups also will dance at 11 30 . In the close an area outside the Cathedral. The English performing arts ensemble and the elizabethan singers of London will give a concert at 7 30 . Sept. 11 at new Hall at Winchester College featuring compositions by Puccini Vaughan Williams Elgar and Schoenberg. Tickets Range from 5 pounds about $7.80 up to 10 pounds about $15.60 and can be purchased from the tourist office. A combined recital will be Given by the Winchester Southwark Portsmouth and Guildford choirs at 5 30 . Sept. 25 at the Cathedral. The concert is free and entry is on a first come first serve basis. The Cathedral players will present a new play William Kingsmill and the dissolution at Winchester at 7 30 . Sept. 30 through oct. 2 at the Cathedral. Tickets Are 2 pounds about $3.10 at the door.
