It said his letter to the Board indicated he was quitting As president Over the Prospect that the stations Headquarters would move from Munich Germany to Prague in the czech Republic. The resignation was accepted effective immediately. A the Board wishes to make it Clear that no decision has been made on a Prague move a the announcement said. It added that the proposal is being studied by the Board and by the stations management with the help of Arthur Andersen and co., an International consulting and accounting firm. The study will be completed in a a some weeks a it said. When the study is done the Board will make its recommendations to president Clinton and to Congress where Bills Are pending on the stations future. The Clinton administration has proposed that they be consolidated with the voice of America which is under direct government control and also broadcasts to the area. Action is expected in the Senate at the end of january but it May be several months before the two houses of Congress agree on a Bill to be sent to the president.
