The Castle of Monta Baur is Bright yellow making it even More distinctive against the Skyline. By Craig Martin staff writer i about an hour s drive Northwest of Frankfurt Germany lies a sleepy Little town where you won t have to Dodge tourist buses to find a parking place. Monta Baur located in the Westerwald is filled with quaint restaurants shops and half timbered buildings dating Back to the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance period. The name of the town goes Back to 1217, when the archbishop of Trier returned from the crusades took Over the Castle that dominates the City and named it Mons Tabor after mount Tabor in the holy land. The Interior of the Castle is open to the Public Only on special occasions such As the festive concerts that Are Given inside the great Hall. Over time the Castle was added to and became More of a manorial residence. Today the Castle houses the academic institutes of the financial Banks. The architectural style of the Institute s adjoining modern buildings keeps in the original style of the Castle you get to Monta Baur from autobahn 3. The Monta Baur exit is located almost Midway Between Koblenz and Limburg. Take that exit and follow the signs into town. When you exit the autobahn you la see a breathtaking View of the City. The Bright yellow Castle with its round towers pierces the sky at the top of a Hill. Dotting the Hillside Are neatly decorated half timbered houses that reflect the design of the times. Neth by ill Germany o Austria a Sas take a walk through the downtown area to really experience the Beauty of this City. The clean Gray Cobblestone streets Are dotted with taverns antique and souvenir shops and Art galleries. Along the route Are Park benches where one can Stop to enjoy a snack or the scenery.
