Midlands East Snow sleet and freezing rain fell from the Plains to Southern new England Early wednesday As one Winter storm spread from the Southwest an another front curved through the Middle of the Eastern United states. The storm that dumped Snow in the Mountain Northeast of san Diego on tuesday carried Snow sleet and freezing rain Over the Plains and Centra Mississippi Valley on wednesday. Tuesday s storm was blamed for numerous accidents that injured 14 people in the san Francis co Bay area and prompted Avalanche warnings thigh altitudes in the Eastern Sierra Nevada. Winter storm watches were posted for Colora do Nebraska Kansas Iowa Missouri Indiana and Illinois where freezing rain developed during the night coating streets and sidewalks in North Ern Illinois with up to an Inch of ice. Strong Easterly winds tuesday produced Snow squalls in northeastern Minnesota where up to 6 inches of Snow were expected wednesday. Farther East a separate storm was dumping Snow in parts of Ohio Pennsylvania new Jersey new York and new England. Up to 8 inches of Snow were expected in coastal Massachusetts where ice encased most of the Shoreline. Up to 6 inches of Snow were forecast in Eastern Pennsyl Vania. Tuesday s storm dumped several inches of Snow in mountainous portions of san Diego county before producing scattered Snow Over parts of Arizona Nevada Utah new Mexico and Colorado then moving on to Wyoming during the night. A 2-Inch snowfall was reported at Winnemucca nov. Heavy Snow near Williams ariz., accompanied by frequent Thunder briefly reduced visibility to less than a Quarter of a mile. The weather in much of the West had been unseasonably mild before the storm blew in. Record highs tuesday included 50 degrees at casperwyo., and 53 at grand Junction Colo.
