Lindh s previous Best was a fourth in downhill last month in Italy. The Victory came just four Days after a chilling crash killed two time world Champion Ulrike Maier in downhill in Germany. With the fourth place in Italy a few weeks ago and this Victory i think i m going to have a Good Confidence base headed into the olympics Lindh said. This race does t necessarily mean anything for the olympics but it makes me feel Good about my skills. Obviously there was More focus on the olympics than in the world cup. But i la take it. Eight years Isa Long  the 24-year-old Lindh from Juneau Alaska posted a time of 2 minutes 04.21 seconds nudging out French skier Melanie Suchet by one Hundredth of a second. Isolde Kostner and 18-year-old italian who got her first world cup Victory in the same race in which Mair was killed was third in 2 04.65. Katja Seizinger of Ger Many was fourth in 2 04.96. Lee Gartner and about a dozen members of the aus Trian team were the major absences this week bowing out after Maier s death. Lindh raced Only four events in 1993 before injuring her right knee and later requiring surgery. She said the knee is Fine. Lodh termed this downhill course very Safe after last weekend s trag Edy. They obviously paid a lot of attention to safety Lindh said. They re trying to make a Good impression with the world championships Here next year.
