These Baths were intended for foreign visitors and contained several different bathing areas there Are separate sections for men and women each containing a dressing room cold water Bath warm water Bath and hot water Bath. Each of the rooms was heated by hot air that came from a Central Furnace and circulated under the floor. In the Tep Darium is a huge Bronze Basin that was once filled with water heated by the Sun which was used before the Central heating was put in. A favorite among tourists is the Brothel where lava Beds still give testimony to what the building was used for. Inscriptions Over some of the doors give the names of the women and their specialities. An average looking woman of the time would entertain for a Glass of wine the More exotic a flask or two Calabresse said. The italians have actually closed off some rooms throughout the City so that unsuspecting women and children would not be embarrassed by the graphic statues or pictures on the Walls. They Are willing to open them upon request. These Are also two Amphitheatres both of which Are Sites of Spring and summer concerts or plays. Both Uso and International tickets and Tours offer Tours from naval support activity Naples for a nominal fee. The Cost usually runs about $35 and includes a Side trip to either Vesuvius or the Amalfi coast and Sorrento. Since there is Little cover in the City Pompeii is not a place to go during bad weather or in the afternoons in the heat of the summer. Transportation and tickets Are included As Well As the Price of a tour guide. For less than $10 you can go on your own but unless you have a Guidebook and an excellent sense of direction it is very easy to wander for hours and never find the most interesting Sites. It is possible to get an English speaking guide but it is very expensive for Small groups and runs about $75 for groups up to 15 people. Guidebooks Are also available near the Entrance but Are More expensive than those sold in base bookstores. If you re planning to go for the Day it might be a Good idea to take along a picnic lunch to have in the Park. To get there from Asa take the tangential a toward Cap Dichino Airport and follow the directions to Salerno. Before Salerno you will see signs to Pompeii.
