   European Stars and Stripes (Newspaper) - April 28, 1994, Darmstadt, Hesse                                F r a n c e a Quick trip whets appetite for a full course meal by Steve scholar Kaiserslautern Bureau the Uso 24-hour express tour to Paris has a lot in common with the age old combat breakfast of a Coke arid two twinkles. In All fairness though the quickie tour is no designed to be a full meal but rather a snack. The trouble is there is so much to see and so Little  the tour includes almost 10,hours of travelling to and from Paris and More bus time during the Day although the bus is comfortable nonsmoking and equipped with a restroom. A word of caution though. Bus Drivers Are allowed to smoke and the Fuller the bus gets the lower the Comfort level sinks. The bus left the Kaiserslautern area about 2 . And arrived in the City of lights about 7 . After a Short Stop at a Paris hotel for breakfast included in the Price the tour stops at the Cathedral of notre Dame although the Cathedral is swathed in scaffolding it is still an impressive sight. The twin 220-foot-High towers shoot toward the sky and one almost expects to see the Hunchback of notre Dame hanging from one of the Cathedral s Many gargoyles. Victor Hugo s novel by the Way inspired the restoration of the Interior of the Cathedral which had been virtually gutted during the French revolution. The tour of notre Dame is limited to 30 minutes because of the Day s packed sightseeing itinerary. Most visitors on the tour Only had time to snap a picture in front of the Cathedral and take a fast run through the Interior. Another morning Stop on the Day s itinerary was at the parfume Rie Fragonard.
