The Center said a dozen scientists from research centers in Russia Slovakia and Finland collaborated in discovering the new element which does not yet have a name. The heaviest element occurring in nature i uranium with atomic number 92. Element 110 existed for Only a fraction of a thousandth of a second. But its presence was prove when the apparatus detected an Alpha particle or helium nucleus that was emitted As the element decayed the Center said. Several laboratories worldwide sought intensively but without Success for this element during the past 10 years the Center said. The element has an atomic weight of 269 and is related chemically to Nickel palladium and Platinum.
