However i can t seem to get a Clear answer As to the Legal age one has to be in order to ride one. First i tried at the Vogel Weh Driver s testing station and was informed that i could ride a moped under 40 cd s. To double Check i went to Ramstein where i was told that i could not ride any Type of motorized transport until i was 16.then, i went Back to Vogel Weh and was told that once i turned 15, i could ride a sofa or moped. Why do the answers differ also i have seen kids whom i know to be Only 14 years of age Riding mopeds. Please set me straight on this matter. Robert Angelilli Ramstein a Germany editor s note Karl e. Upon attaining the age of 16, a person is entitled to operate a class five motor vehicle which has an engine capacity of less that 50 com and will not exceed a Speed of 40 Kilometres per hour. For this a Usa eur Pov operator s License is stamping out misinformation i m sorry to report that the sergeant who wrote the recent letter concerning a new stamp subscription service is mis informed. Although Many countries including Germany offer a standing order Deposit account service the United states is not one of them. The Only service of this Type is operated by the uses for commemorative panels and souvenir pages with first Day cancellations which Cost several dollars each. The Only Way to get the Stamps them selves unused is to order them after they have been issued. One must pay an additional 50c hand Ling charge for each order in addition to the face value of the Stamps and order a full Sheet to get a plate Block. Delivery time in my experience has been anywhere up to three months. But maybe there is Hope yet for us american stranded in Europe. I Don t know if the publicity the problem has received in the paper has had anything to do with it but the Alta California stamp issued in the states on september 9. Reached the Augsburg Apo on september 16 the quickest of any new Issue in the year i be been Here. Now if Only they would Send us some of those skilled hands for Independence Stamps that were issued on the fourth of july. Ray Compton Augsburg Germany the three Aims of youth sports this is an open letter to All coaches of youth football in Germany. Having coached youth sports for several years i remember that we were told of three priorities. The first was to teach the basics of the particular sport. The second was to teach them sportsmanship and teamwork. The third was to teach them Good health habits. It appears that the football coaches have forgotten these Aims and replaced them with one idea win win win it does t matter if the child s parents Don t see him or her until after 7 at night. And unimportant things like Homework can be done later. The Only thing that matters is winning. Trie coaches use such threats and punish ment As miss one practice and you Don t play in the next two i know of a Case where a Young boy was told by his coach you have All your life Togo on trips with your family to see Europe but now football is More i realize that. I m attacking a sacred cow but let s get ourselves Back on the right track. If you remember the three Aims of youth sports you la win the games and More. You la also win the satisfaction of know ing that you be helped Young men and women to learn values important to the future of our society.
