Whitworth started the Day at even Par after 36 holes and was four strokes behind Pat Bradley. She birdied three holes on the front nine and two on the Back while playing Par on the rest to wind up with a211. Tied at second three shots Back were Bradley Joann Washam and Gloria Ehret. Bradley had to Birdie the final Hole to gain her share of the tie. The final round had been interrupted about one hour because of a lightning storm created by a nearby Forest fire. But Whitworth said the delay did t bother her. Really i think it gave us a break she said. We had Only played three holes and we did t have enough momentum to 1 break. And not having to play in the wind that was blowing before the break helped a Whitworth said she did t even realize she had won the tournament until she walked into the player s tent at the end of her round. I actually did t know i won until i got into the tent because i could t see the Leader Board. I forgot about it and just Whitworth earned $9,000 for the Victory. Waltrip who was also involved in a controversial incident with Lennie Pond at Richmond Fairgrounds raceway earlier this year started on the pole position and led the first 51 laps. The 31-year-old Waltrip continued near the front until just Short of the Halfway Point when he began to lose ground.
