Easier said than done Baker said we had t reckoned with the problems we ran  the Usa eur Vendor permits Section in Heidelberg told the women they could have their shop on base if they got work permits from the German authorities. The germans told the women they could t give them permits because they were in the country under the status of forces agreement and were not registered with City authorities. German speaking Nevers came up with the solution if the German labor authorities could t Issue the three americans a work permit would they give them a writ ten statement that the germans had no objection to them opening and running the shop the germans did and Usa eur gave them the go ahead but the process took months. We looked at All kinds of places for the shop even an old garage with grease pits before we were told we could have this room in the officers club Baker said. The room was run Down and they said Here you can have it but you la have to do All the renovating on your own and i think they did t believe we could Wolfe said. From previous bazaars that we participated in we knew we had something to offer the Community something people wanted Baker said. Baker of Bonner Springs kan., has been an elementary science teacher for nine years. She s a Wood worker and Carver and keeps Busy with special orders. Wolfe of Columbus ga., specializes in Antiques. Nevers of Nelsonville Ohio has her degree from Ohio University. She has worked As a commercial artist in Advertis ing designing greeting cards and As a Spe Cial projects designer in american and German firms. She new specializes in painted furniture and accessories in bavarian and tyrolean keeping Busy at the Cornucopia in Hanau Are from left Beverly Nevers Katherine Wolfe and Lee Baker.
