Soviet jul fighter bombers were at tacking guerrilla positions in the province and at least ii guerrillas and 15 civilians had been killed the officials said. Another 26 people were killed during the past week near Khoshib in Logar province As they tried to flee across the Border Inlo Pakistan a guerrilla source said. Afghan government troops opened fire on the Refu gees and killed most of their group he said. The soviet Union sent troops to Afghani Stan in 1979, removed one communist government and installed the regime of Babrak Karmal. They stayed on with some 115.000 troops to join the fight against islamic guerrillas trying to oust the government in Kabul.
