Campaign treasurer William while said the Banks also agreed to allow the committee to defer monthly interest payments. However inc interest would continue to accrue and would be due along with the principal on May 15, he said. Last december Glenn asked ban Ohio National Bank Bank one of Columbus Amer Trust co. And Huntington National Bank to extend the deadline for repayment from january 1986 to March 1987 and to permit him to defer monthly interest payments until then. The senator said he made the request so he could concentrate on raising Money for his Senate re election Campaign this year. White said efforts to retire the debt would continue but he does not expect the committee to be Able to raise $2 million by May 15. He said he anticipates further discussions with the Banks. Glenn has said inc most recent interest pay ment on inc debt was made last november. He has stressed that even if the Banks temporarily lift the requirements for payment he will continue his efforts to retire the debt this year and that several fund raising events have been scheduled. When Glenn ended his bid for the democratic parly s presidential nomination in 1984, his com Mittee had accumulated a debt of s3.5 million $2 million of which was owed to the four Banks.
