I have an other Story that your readers should see. About a year ago cocaine became the in drug for Mem Bers of our social set. A few of my friends started snorting just to try it out. They liked it and pretty soon All they cared about was another fix. I was afraid to try it but when i did i liked the Rush it gave me. Coke can make someone who never says a word come out of his Shell. I came out of mine for about 20 minutes. Then paranoia took Over and i slipped off into a Corner so i would t have to say a word to anybody. I got so jittery i could t sit still for a minute. In the morning i woke up with my jaws aching because i ground my Teeth All night. 1 also Felt drained and had a stomach ache that would t quite. I kept asking my self Why in the world i would take $200 from my Bank account to Wake up sick and have nothing to show for it. A Friend of mine who was 20 years old mainline Coke until his veins were shot. He could t pay his rent lost his wife and family and stole from his friends. No one knew How deep he was into it until he killed him self. Please print this letter to let people know this is not advice from their parents. That stuff goes in one ear and out the other this is a warning from a Friend. Still mourning in Norfolk a. Dear Norfolk thousand of others Are mourning too. Cocaine is now the drug of Choice among the Middle class As Well As the affluent. It kills the soul and the spirit and then it destroys the victims who thought they d try it for kicks. Thanks for yet another Story from someone who was there. Dear Ann Landers you weren t very sympathetic to the woman who complained that her husband never talked to her. Maybe i can open your eyes a Little. My husband was a Good he did t drink or Gamble or run around. He never abused me physically but the mental cruelty was More than i could take. I finally divorced him. What did he do simply refused to talk to me. There was never so much As a i when he came Home or a Bye when he left. He never gave me a compliment or even an insult. If i asked what would you like for supper he would t answer. I begged him to talk to me. No response. 1 tried silence hoping he d open up. He never did. I know now that men who Don t talk Are sick in some strange Way. They Are wife abusers. There Are no broken Bones or bloodied noses just a broken heart and shattered self respect. I m free of him now but i still Don t understand what was wrong with this Man. Do you have the answer Sharon r., Boynton Beach Fla. Dear Sharon your husband is a classic example of the passive aggressive personality. These Abu Sive types punish by doing and saying absolutely nothing. They be Learned that the silent treatment can be extremely painful and their victims can t Lay a Glove on them. Their Standard defense is i did t do or say a thing All letters to the editor must contain the full printed name and address of the writer and must be signed. Soldiers came to stranded canadians7 Aid on feb. 23, 20 Canadian passengers of a Small private charter bus company found themselves in a rather desperate situation stranded on autobahn Ell four or five Kilometres from their Destina Tion Stuttgart Airport. Departure time was Only 15 minutes away. The time 6 . The weather cold snowy and blustery. The bus incapacitated by a double Blowout of one set of rear tires. The Driver very frustrated and quite at loss As to what to do next. For the poor passengers the situation appeared very nearly hopeless two immediate actions were taken flagging Down a passing Motorist and utilizing the autobahn emergency phone reached after a very cold one Kilometre walk Down the inhospitable autobahn. Neither brought results. Time was of the essence. If it had t been for two god sent Good Samaritans in the form of spec. 4 Berk Heimer and spec. 4 Moorehead of the 15th transport co Stuttgart who of their own volition pulled up before the bus in their seven ton lorry the whole group would Likely have had to forego the planned trip to Morocco. These two gentlemen made themselves available to As Sist in any Way possible. The service rendered by these two Young men was not Only beyond the Call of duty but demonstrated International Goodwill which too Seldom forces stationed Here in Europe Are credited with by the Public. There was absolutely no outward Indi cation on the bus that we were a group of stranded canadians. Furthermore no at tempt had been made to Flag Down these two Road to All intents and Pur poses these two Young soldiers simply saw a group of people who might need their help and regardless of nationality they were prepared to Render assistance. They came Forward and in their Best German proffered assistance which of course was readily accepted. Not Only did they get the tour Leader to the Airport departure terminal in time to forestall what appeared As certain disaster but they returned again of their own volition to the scene of the mishap within 15 minutes prepared to transport All Pas sengers and Luggage to the Airport fortunately a move which due to their ear Lier action did not prove necessary. Offers of compensation were humbly rejected by them. We take our hats off to these two Young men to their company and their commanding officer. To the two Young men we offer our sincerest thank you you were Angels in disguise and also some very Nice Guys. We Hope we can someday help someone the Way you helped us.
