I just wrote about anything i wanted to about peo ple. That was the main thing said mrs. Moore a frail White haired woman with a Spry humor. At age 14, mrs. Moore took a 23-year break from the newspaper business. She went to College for four years married Begley Moore and began teaching school and raising a family. In 1923, she returned to Pettus and resumed her writing. Five years later the Picayune merged with the Bee Ville Bee and mrs. Moore continued writing. She started a column Flowers for the living which recognized people for their Good deeds. Friends in High places Kentucky gov. Martha Layne Collins embarrassed by a tanning bed purchased with state funds for the governor s mansion auctioned off the Recliner but is getting it Back thanks to a High bid from Friendly senators. After receiving editorial criticism and some jabs from lawmakers when the Purchase of the $3,200 tanning bed by the Parks depart ment was disclosed by a reporter Collins declared the bed surplus property and put it on the Block in Frankfort. She even kicked in a Spray can of sunburn tonic along with a note warning that overexposure could be hazardous to health. But a group of state senators Collins decided to pull their resources to buy the bed Back for Collins and their $3,500 bid was the highest. Collins press aide Barbara Hadley Smith said the governor did not know about the senators bid but noted she is a very gracious person and certainly she will accept this generous gift from these distinguished legis  Well it looked like trash Martha Estrada thought a garbage bag would be a perfect hiding place for the $11,094 she was carrying in Elpaso Texas until a Friend s 3-year-old daughter tossed the bag out the car window. Estrada who planned to use the Cash to buy a dump truck for her father s landscaping business noticed the bag was missing about six hours after running an errand with her Friend and the 3-year-old. The Money had been found and turned in last week by Francisco Morales 18, and Jose Maraz 39, and police thought at first it might belong to drug dealers. But Estrada and her father claimed the Money wednesday persuading authorities it belonged to them by describing the denomination of the Bills and How they were wrapped. Police said they would return the Money after Check ing police records in Elpaso said Vicky Whitehead whose Young daughter had tossed the Money out the window.
