A thou Sands of youths rampaged through this Chic resort throwing rocks and bottles at police and tearing clothing from terrified women in an easter vacation disturbance in which 40 people were arrested. Police planned a show of Force saturday and sunday to prevent a recurrence of Fri Day afternoon s violence. An estimated 10,000 youths invaded the City for easter vacation and after the disturbances erupted police declared an Ille Gal Assembly and started arresting people. A 10 . Curfew for anyone 18 or younger was imposed. Historically Friday and saturday nights Are the busiest said police sgt. David Goodwin. We will have a Large showing of  sixty Riverside county sheriffs deputies and 14 police officers from nearby Cathe dral City and desert hot Springs were expected to join the department s 80 sworn officers he said. Stan Mozer Driver of a caterer s truck said a crowd of youths overtook his truck and Tore open the doors stealing food. One Guy broke the doors on the Back and when i confronted him he turned around and hit me with a Coke bottle said Mozer. When i went in to put him to sleep he jumped All Over me and licked my face and wagged his Tail said Evans. I did t have the heart to put him to sleep. She said he was in pain and yet there he was  Evans said he cared for Barney for the next five months intending eventually to destroy the dog. Every Day we kept thinking we should do it but How can you put a perfectly healthy animal to sleep i Tell you animals have rights too he said. He became a part of the family.
