It moved to Fliege Horst Cavern in nearby Hanau in 1966 and became the Hanau Aero gub. But in 1984 the club Learned that it would have to move to another Field Tor safely reasons because of the heavy military air traffic at Fliege Horst. So they relocated to a civilian Airfield near Ruess Olsheim South West of Frankfurt. But that was Only a temporary Solu Tion to the problem. We did t have an office to work out of said club manager Dondy vane. I had to commute Between Hanau and Ruess Olsheim about 70 Miles round trip every Day just to manage the club and it was difficult to keep the club alive we lost a lot of  finally through the efforts of it. Everybody in the Darmstadt military Community has been very Good to us vane said. Since arriving Here in May we be grown to 138 members which probably makes us one of the largest . Flying clubs in  those 138 members keep the club s seven aircraft and 10 instructors very Busy with the bulk of the flying being Donjon weekends. Although members can also Fly on weekdays from 4 . Monthly dues Are charged according to a member s rank with Els to e-3s paying $ 10, e-4s to e-5s paying $ 15 and those above e-5 paying s20. Aircraft rental charges vary from $31 for a cessna152 to $65 for a Piper Arrow and instructor fees Are $13 per hour vane said.
