While spouses and family members can qualify for medical attention a full year after the provider has been Dis charged a defense medical official said it s a fairly limited Benefit it has to be for the medical care necessary to remedy a problem due to the abuse. According to defense department Fig ures the Bill has the potential to Aid 9.7of every 1,000 spouses and five out of every 1,000 children. There were 14,382 reports of spouse abuse in fiscal year 1986. And 11,318 of those reports were found to be valid complaints by military investigators.
