Living in government quarters can by no Way be compared to living in your own Home but for the military family especially overseas it is the most financially sound Way of living. Government quarters Are by no Means free not Only do we forfeit our Basic allowance for quarters bad but the military member pats in Long hours Field duty etc., to provide this for his or her family. Children Are allowed by their parents to behave in ways that Are totally a nuisance to others. On weekends. Tor example there Are mothers who Are Nice enough to Send their children outside to scream and yell to their father can sleep. That is very Nice for him but what about the rest of us without Little children who would also like to sleep late it is our window that your children Are standing under while they scream for their friends or for you. I realize that the housing area is the Only place Chil Dren have to ride their bikes. The biggest problem if that children run out into the Street both on foot and on bicycles. When our children were Young we taught them to took both ways before entering a Street and we were sure that they were aware of Basic bicycle rules before they Rode on streets. These children in housing could care less that a car is coming. 1 have even had children curse me when i found it necessary to Bonk to warn them that i was there As they darted out in front of me. If your child were to get hit by a car the Driver would be at fault because they have the Protection of the sign children playing posted at the entrances of housing. If each child were taught Good bicycle and pedestrian safety and perhaps a Little common sense no child would Ever have to endure the pain that can be caused by being hit by s car. Also we pay every month for our stairwells to be cleaned and also for our Yards to be cared for. Why should we pay for these services if children Are allowed to throw trash about and leave messes everywhere children Are not he Only ones who do this. Unfortunately we cannot utilize our privilege of using the front Yard or having friends Over to sit Oul As other people in our stairwell monopolize it. I know that it sounds like All of the complaints arc Only directed toward the children and t guess they Are but it s the Lack of supervision by the parents that allows the children to act Tike this. Living in such close quarters with people from All different places can be difficult to say the least but there has to be a Way for All families to be Able to live the Way that they want to without having to go away on weekends and whenever possible just to have peace and quiet. Please Lake into consideration that we pay for our quarters too and that those of us who want the privilege of living in a decent area without being bothered should be allowed to do that without the hassle and the inconvenience. We As family members Are Here not for the convenience of the army but for the personal convenience of being with our spouses and keeping the family unit intact.
