A Jodie Mudd survived a bogey-5 on the 433-Yard 17th Hole to Post a 2-under-Par 70 sunday to win the $953,842 St. Jude classic by one stroke Over Peter Jacob sen and Nick Price. When Mudd made the turn at 14-under, beheld a one stroke Lead Over Rummells and Jacobsen. Jacobsen went to 11 under with a Bir die at no. 10 and shaved another stroke off Par at the 218-Yard 12th. He moved to 13 under with a Birdie at the 433-Yard 17th and later missed a 20-foot Birdie putt from the fringe of the 18th Green to finish his round at 6-under 66. Starting the Day i thought 14-Underwas going to win it Jacobsen said. Jody is going to be a player to be con tended with for a Long time after today. I know when i got my first win at the 1980 Buick open it got me Over the  Price made a run at the leaders on the front nine going to 11-under at the turn with a 33, but he bogeyed the 10th Hole to fall Back into the pack. A Martha Nause ended 10 years of tour frustration sunday winning her first tournament by scoring 14 Points under a new format and holding on to a one Point Triumph Over Judy Dickinson and Debbie Massey in the $400,000 Pat Bradley International Lyga tournament. Nause birdied two of the first three holes on the Back nine and added another Birdie at 15 to take control. But her two putt from three feet on the 18th Hole gave her a bogey to make the race to the end close. The tournament was the first on the Lyga tour to be played under a modified stableford scoring system. In the system a Birdie is Worth three Points an Eagle is Worth five and a double Eagle Worth eight. Par scores no Points a bogey loses one Point and a double bogey costs a golfer three Points. A third round co leaders Bob Charles and defending Champion Gary player finished a Day Long Duel Over Medinah s unyielding no. 3 course dead even sunday and set up an 18-Hole playoff for the .
