I tested positive  the his virus in november of 1985. These past three years i have remained in fairly Good health due to exercise proper nutrition and regular sleeping habits. I Nei ther smoke nor drink. Recently my to cell count has declined so i have started on a program of in Mun modulators. Although my physical Condi Tion is Good emotionally i m wreck. The Long term effects of living with this disease Are indescribable. Some Days my hands shake so bad i m sure some of my co work ers think i m having withdrawal symptoms from drugs or alcohol. 6 every cough sneeze ache or pain has become a cause  panic. I feel As if i m living with a time bomb never knowing when it will go off. This is my third year of celibacy. My heart cries out  closeness but i Don t dare take the Chance of infect ing anyone. Total abstinence is a must  me. Three Good friends have experienced terrible deaths from this disease this past year. My Best Friend is now dying. Aids has taken Over my entire existence i dream about it almost every night. All my spare time goes into Volunteer work with the aids support group. Helping others in pain and sorrow has saved me fro going to pieces. I m horrified when i hear of the irresponsible sexual conduct that is still rampant in Many Gay circles. These people must be insane. Don t they realize that one reckless encounter can be a death sentence if my letter can save just one person from this Terri ble sickness my misery will not have been in vain. Dear Ann Landers i was especially interested in the letter signed perplexed parents in  they caught Betty and Rick resting in bed together since i have had firsthand experience with this sort of thing i feel qualified to give them some advice. My baby was born when i was a senior i High school. My Rick who always said he d stick with me if anything went wrong decided he was too Young  fatherhood so i was left with the responsibility of raising our son alone. It was a terrific struggle but with the help of god and my parents i made it. Please Tell Betty and Rick to think twice before resting m bed t9gether.
