Vice Chancellor Stanley Levy created the 13-Mcm her task Force including students faculty and Community members in september after viewing preliminary results of the Survey on rape at the Campus which has an undergraduate enrolment of 25,950. The Survey conducted last Spring found that 16.4 percent of the 537 women who responded said they had been raped. That is in the same Range As two 1985 College studies on the topic one at the University of South Dakota and another conducted on 32 College campuses. Another 23 percent said they were victims of sexual abuse which meant fondling or touching. We re talking about acquaintance rape and men in fraternities or in Campus housing who arc sexually abusing  said Laurna Rubinson an associate professor of health who headed the task Force. Levy and Rubinson said colleges across the country face the same problems. The study showed a Strong relationship Between sex Ual violence and alcohol use. Sixty six of the 88 women who reported being raped answered questions about alcohol use. Of them. 80percent said the men involved in the attacks had been drinking at the time and 70 percent of the women said they themselves had been drinking. Ideally alcohol consumption on Campus and at Tail Gate parties outside sporting events would be banned Rubinson said.
