A a Lenniev is 41 and divorced with a 13-year-old daughter who lives with her Mother. From the Start i asked him if he would Ever marry again. He said yes after a year of exclusive dating i mentioned marriage. Lennie said his daughter was too unsettled and that he could not consider a commitment until things calmed Down. Shortly after his daughter and her Mother moved to another state. 1 brought up marriage again on my birthday when the expected engagement ring was not presented. Finally after much prodding he said i did not meet his requirements. I was not a Good enough Cook and he needed a woman with a better paying Job to ensure a higher Standard of living. I was stunned and asked him Why he had t mentioned my inadequacies earlier. He said he was waiting for me to grow up. I am 33, Ann have been working for 15 years and have never lacked self Confidence several weeks later Lennie decided that a we weren to right for each Ann in be never Felt so cheap and used in All my life. The Day he told you that you weren to a Good enough Cook and he needed a woman who could make More Money you should have walked him to the door and told him not to slam it on his Way out. View this relationship As your tuition in the school of experience and be More Alert to Worsen users in the future. Dear Ann Landers poor . Of fort like a great Many others who have made the same mistake she needs someone to give her the Correct interpretation of that famous quotation from Shakespeare a King Henry via the first thing we do lets kill All the that statement was made by a murderous commoner named Dick the Butcher a Follower of the rebel Jack Cade a Clothier who thought he could become the King if he destroyed All governmental buildings and killed All who stood in the Way. Shakespeare meant this passage As a compliment to lawyers and judges who protect the people from tyranny and anarchy. Countless Media people do not understand this quotation and 1 have written dozens of letters attempting to set them straight. Thanks for another Opportunity. ?., Raleigh . Dear . Be my guest. The american bar association should love you. Dear Ann Landers my problem is one that millions of others must have too. In be often wondered Why no one has written to you about it. Its those tags that clothing manufacturers put in garments at the Back of the neck. They irritate the skin and when you try to rip them out you tear the fabric. . Dear . I have received hundreds of complaints about those Pesky tags. Customers should complain to retailers and retailers should complain to the manufacturers. There is strength in numbers. Rise and revolt folks c creators Syndicate once upon a time in the land to the West All computers lived in computer rooms. They lived happily for Over 40 years. Although now everything seems peaceful and Serene it Wasny to always so. For during this time a War had been raging with the evil Empire to the East a not a War of guns and tanks and planes though at times it did come close to that. It was a War of information and spies. This War was called the cold War and this Story is about How the land to the West finally overcame and Defeated the land to the East. Up until 1985, the majority of computers located within nato were the larger mini and mainframe computers. These computers were expensive and required extensive Security controls to protect them. These Security controls took into account a myriad of physical environmental personnel and software Security features. Because of the Security controls provided Warsaw pact spies of Alt types had to work diligently and hard to gather information on nato. As this information was gathered it was sent Back to the East to be processed on their computers most of which were copies or stolen from the West. Starting in 1985, everything changed. It was the Dawn of the new age of microcomputers. Their introduction revolutionized the work place. Typewriters were out and pcs personal computers were in. Pcs were purchased in great numbers by the West. However with the Purchase of these pcs automation Security was forgotten and was nonexistent. Most people processed unclassified information on their pcs and believed that automation Security was unnecessary. Consequently the Job of the Warsaw pact spy was made easier. Little did we know that our adversaries were very Happy to collect untold stores of unprotected data to add to their knowledge of the As i was looking through some of my papers from jobs Long ago i ran across this piece that i think tics in particularly Well with your highlighting cruelty to children for the month of april. Anyway Here it is 21 memos from your child 1. Done to spoil me. I know quite Well that i ought not to have All that i ask for. In a Only testing you. 2. Done to be afraid to be firm with me. I prefer it. It makes me feel More secure. 3. Done to let me form bad habits. 1 have to rely on you to detect them in the Early stages. 4. Done to make me feel smaller than i am. It Only makes me behave stupidly 5. Done to Correct me in front of people if you can help it. Ill take much More notice if you talk quietly with me in private. 6. Done to make me feel my mistakes arc sins. It upsets my sense of values. 7. Done to protect me from consequences i need to learn the painful Way sometimes. 8. Done to be too upset when i say ?o1 hate it in t you 1 hate but your Power to threaten me. 9. Done to take too much notice of my Small ailments. Sometimes they get me the attention i need. 10. Done to nag. If you do i shall have to protect myself by appearing deaf. 11. Done to forget that 1 cannot explain myself As Well As i should like. This is Why in a not always very West the amount of unclassified information that Warsaw pact spies were Able to gather began to increase dramatically. In a very Short Lime the amount of unclassified information increased to tidal wave proportions. So much so that the computers in the East were overloaded they could not keep up. The input of stolen information far exceeded what their computers could process. The downfall of the East had begun. The East was never Able to match the West one for one in computers they always lagged catastrophically behind. To make matters worse the computers the East used to process the mountains of information gathered from the West were also used to process and control the economics of the East they were employed to direct their transportation Industrial and agriculture distribution systems. The East faced a most serious problem. Not Only could they not keep up with information that was ath Rcd by their spies from our unprotected pcs it pretty soon the entire Structure of their government was breaking Down due to the Strain on their automation resources. In the end with but few exceptions the East has just decided to give up rather than try to keep up. In just four Short years we have brought the mighty East to its Knees. The pcs have won where All the tanks guns planes and diplomats have failed. Not the pen but the keyboard is fighter than the sword. This letter was brought to run he the people who teach automation Security for the l a. Army in Europe. If you do you will find that i Slop asking and seek my information elsewhere. 17. Don t Ever suggest that you arc perfect or infallible. It gives me Loo great of a Shock when i discover that you Are neither. 18. Done to Ever think it is beneath your dignity to apologize to me. An honest apology makes me feel surprisingly warm toward you. 19. Done to forget How quickly i m growing up. It must be very difficult to keep Pace with me. But please do try. 20.
